Mindfulness Everyday, MBSR Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in Toronto

Toronto-based Mindfulness Everyday, a non-profit organization, has assembled a dedicated team of professionals, experienced in conducting mindfulness programs. Mindfulness Everyday offers MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) workshops, in non-clinical settings, as well as programs for youth, parents and educators.

We are committed to improving the health and well-being of community members and the networks that support children and youth, by providing tailored mindfulness programs.

Many of our adult participants voiced the wish to have learned mindfulness much earlier in their lives. This reflects the growing interest in the application of mindfulness in education and medicine. Emerging research demonstrates benefits of attention, focus concentration, emotional regulation and stress reduction for all age groups, including youth and children. We have been continually developing programming, facilitating research, and teaching mindfulness in schools and community settings since 2009.

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the awareness that arises when paying attention to the present moment, with non-judgment. Today, there is a growing interest in mindfulness. Recent research scientifically corroborates the benefits of mindfulness training. It shows that mindfulness increases attention skills, reduces anxiety, and improves emotional regulation.

Our programs are based on the principles of the MBSR workshop, an 8-week program created by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979.

Dr. Kabat-Zinn describes mindfulness as an approach to life based on the understanding that:

“the present is the only time that any of us have to be alive – to know anything – to perceive – to learn – to act – to change – to heal”.

Mindfulness Everyday programs

Mindfulness Everyday programs provide a safe, nourishing, and compassionate environment, offering tools to incorporate mindfulness into your everyday life. Most participants report greater acuity, a more positive outlook, and a renewed ability to cope with the stresses and strains, the ups and downs of life.

Programs offered through the Mindfulness Everyday group include:

As a non-profit organization, Mindfulness Everday is pleased to accept donations and volunteers to further its work. For more information, see our About Us page.

“Peace begins with us. The practice of non-harming is the field of training. The second field of training has to do with the development of concentration and a strong, mindful awareness. Mindfulness is the basis for wise action. When we can see clearly what is happening in the moment, wisdom can direct our choices and actions, rather than the old habits simply playing out our patterns of conditioning.”
— Joseph Goldstein, A Heart Full of Peace
